Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic Massage is a light, superficial massage that stimulates lymphatic flow in the whole body. The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and lymph nodes that carries lymph fluid.

The lymphatic system does not have a pump or heart, like the circulatory system, so its flow is slower and only increased when exercising, moving or stimulated by the circulatory system.

Some of the functions of the lymphatic system include immunity, the processing of fats and the elimination of excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins. That’s why lymphatic massage is recommended for detoxifying the body, to reduce edema, before and after surgery, and during dieting.

Lymphatic Massage pressure is lighter than in a regular massage, because the lymph system is superficial, right below the skin. It is a very soothing, relaxing massage as well as profoundly healing. It is recommended to drink plenty of water before and after lymphatic massage, since this will help drain excess toxins. Also, avoid drinking alcohol, coffee or eating salty things before and after the massage. This will interfere in the ability of flushing out of toxins.
