What is Yoga?

Yoga is a way of living.Yoga means to unite.

You can do Yoga sitting down, as you read this

website, by observing your posture, following the

rhythm of your breath and enhancing your senses to

what is "really happening" within you.

During a Yoga class all these elements come together

in a union of all the parts of your Self.

Our busy lives have taken over the sensitivity needed

to know who we are.

Yoga provides a clean space to come

back home to our sensitivity so we can know ourselves

again and respect the processes of what is happening

in our bodies, hearts and minds.

This is the purpose of all Yoga styles and disciplines.

Classes are open to all ages and all fitness levels.

Hatha Yoga is the Mother of All Yogas of Movement. Having its base in Asana (Posture) and Pranayama (Breath) Hatha Yoga purpose is that of making a bridge between the coarse body and the subtle mental state. Ultimately, the purpose of all Yogas is to achieve great health and balance in all aspects of ones life. The state of relaxation achieved though Hatha Yoga practice empowers the Immanent Health within us. The mature Yoga practitioner then, has the ability to enjoy health in relaxation without the need of medication, drugs or alcohol. Accepting the body as a teacher creates reverence and discipline in our life.
    Yoga & Awareness is the Hatha Yoga Class where you can practice this reverence and enjoy the flow that goes beyond the mat: the joy of being healthy in heart,
mind and body.

Vinyasa Yoga with Ana Donlon


Vinyasa Yoga is based on the Ashtanga series.
Vinyasa makes Yoga practice accessible, challenging, and appropriate.
Starting with the traditional Ashtanga Suryanamaskaras, this class creates endurance and stamina. In it, you will renew energy and vitality to the body, all the while clearing the mind. Yoga is designed to help you live a spiritually rich life, and Vinyasa is the perfect vehicle to achieve this.
Life is not about knowing. It is about learning how to move, breathe and live in a community of seekers.

Pilates Yoga on the MAT
 with Ana Alexander

Pilates on the Mat is a very challenging work out that help you to develop muscle tone and flexibility. Those that look to strengthen abs and core strength will find this class perfect for achieving their goals. Still, Pilates on the Mat considers the body as a whole and will work on those muscles that are hard to target in a regular workout.
This class also celebrates the joy of movement and vitality, reminding us of the beauty of living in a body that is healthy, graceful and whole.

Gentle Yoga with Ana Alexander
 




Gentle Yoga is a very gentle class open for everyone that wants to keep in shape in a relaxed way. People of all ages have benefited from the gentle yet deep stretches of this class. It also helps to build focus and calm, while learning to move in more effective ways during our everyday life.
The exercises are restorative as well as confidence building.

Open from 5 to 99 years old!
Class cost is $5 donation.
